KUALA LUMPUR: Former World No 1 Lee Chong Wei will not hang up his racquet just yet, despite his recent battle with early stage nose cancer.
In his first official press conference today at the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) in Bukit Kiara, the 36-year-old said he will assess his condition first before deciding on his future.
However, for now, the three-time Olympic silver medallist has no intention of quitting the sport.
"I have just returned from the biggest battle of my life. Everyone knows I'm a fighter and I have recovered well from my treatment in Taiwan.
"I have slowly begun weight training and will look at my condition on court first before planning on future tournaments.
"Perhaps I will slowly return next month. Having said that, my health is my priority right now, nothing else," said Chong Wei.
