SUNGAI PETANI: A female deputy public prosecutor had a close shave today when the Perodua Bezza she was driving was hit by a lorry near Jalan Sidam Kiri, here, today.
This came less than a week after the same car was splashed with whitewash by unknown individuals at her house at Taman Mutiara in Kulim.
Kuala Muda police chief Assistant Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah said in the 12.25pm incident, the Kulim-bound lorry was trying to avoid hitting a motorcycle but ended up crashing into the DPP's Bezza instead.
He said the 26-year-old victim was on her way to Sungai Petani from Padang Serai.
"At the scene, the lorry made a sudden swerve in an attempt to avoid a motorcycle coming from the left. It then skidded into the opposite lane before crashing into the victim's car head-on.
"The impact caused the victim to lose control of her car and ended up in a nearby bush."
No one was hurt in the incident, Adzli added.
It was reported recently that a car belonging to a deputy public prosecutor at the Baling magistrate’s court was splashed with whitewash at her house at Taman Mutiara in Kulim, Kedah.
Her case and several others prompted Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Hamid Bador to issue a stern warning against those who threatened law enforcers.
He said police viewed such threat seriously and had instructed his men to immediately go after the culprits.
