SEMENYIH: More than 30 individuals have had their statements taken by police over Muhammad Zahiruddin Putra Mohd Fauzi, 8, who has been missing for a week.

Kajang district police chief ACP Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the individuals were the family members and classmates of Zahiruddin.

“The search area has been expanded to areas near Kajang after previous search efforts involving the Fire and Rescue Department as well as the Civil Defence Force failed to turn up any leads,” Dzaffir told reporters after attending the Superheroes Challenge held in conjunction with the 212nd Police Day celebrations, here, today.

“We are looking into all aspects, including criminal elements, to figure out the mystery behind the disappearance of Zahiruddin,” he said.

Dzaffir urged those with information on the missing child to contact the case investigator, Sergeant Farah Nadia Mohd Hashim, at 012 3600232 or contact the nearest police station.

Zahiruddin was reported missing after leaving his home at a flat here in Bandar Seri Putra, Bangi, on April 15.
