PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today gave history lessons focusing mostly on the Malays to ministers and deputy ministers in a two-hour meeting.
The prime minister said he wanted to share the country’s history at the meeting which started about 10.30am.
“This is done so that everyone can understand and is aware of our origins.
“(With such awareness), we hope not to repeat the bad things that may have happened before,” said Dr Mahathir at Poh Kong Gold Note of Hope programme here.
Today’s special meeting was reported to have not touched on the speculated cabinet reshuffle or even on the possible appointment of advisers.
It was learnt that the meeting broached on the recently-tabled 2019 Budget and other topics on Bumiputera development and agenda.
Among the ministers who were seen at the Perdana Leadership Foundation were Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun, Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof, and Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Senator Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad Baharuddin Shah.
The media was not allowed to enter the foundation premises.
The meeting ended at about 12.45pm.
