KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened an investigation on Datuk Lokman Noor Adam over remarks he allegedly made in a video clip uploaded on social media on a recent road rage incident.

Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmad said the 46-year-old president of Pemantau Malaysia Baru is being probed under Section 504 of the Penal Code for intentional insult and under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for improper use of network facilities or service.

“The investigation was opened yesterday… the probe will be conducted by Bukit Aman Classified Criminal Investigation Unit,” he said.

The incident at KM293.5 on the North-South Expressway (NSE) near Bangi last Saturday was said to have resulted from a minor accident after the victim's car collided with the back of another car.

Both vehicles then tailed each other before stopping after which a scuffle ensued and the victim was then allegedly pinned to the railings by the other driver's car.

The police have since arrested a husband and wife, in their early 40s and late 30s respectively to assist in the investigation. -- BERNAMA
