KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Datin Diana Danielle has refused comment on today’s court decision which has imposed a nine-month jail sentence on her husband Datuk Farid Kamil Zahari for drug abuse.
The court also ordered the 38-year-old actor-director to be put under the surveillance of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) for two years.
When the NST contacted Diana for comments via WhatsApp message, the 27-year-old artiste replied: “Please learn to leave people alone during this difficult time.”
Earlier today, magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham meted out the sentence ruling that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Farid Kamil, who was supposed to enter his defence by way of testimony under oath, had chosen to instead remain silent.
The father of two was charged with using “11-nor-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid” or THC drugs at the narcotics office, Petaling Jaya district police headquarters, at 4.30pm on Jan 11 last year.
The offence falls under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a maximum two years' imprisonment or RM5,000 fine or both, upon conviction.
Meanwhile, Diana took to Instagram and uploaded a photo of her, Farid and their children.
The caption read: “Life throws us lemons but we have mastered the art of making lemonades.”
“We love you so so so so much no matter what.”
