A sales adviser will contact the customer within seven days to process the booking.

PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton) launched its online booking platform for its upcoming X70 sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Wednesday.

Buyers are only required to provide their personal details, preferred model and colour choice as well as the city and state where they wish to collect their car, followed by the payment of the booking fee. A system-generated receipt will be sent to the customer’s email.

The company then assigns a sales adviser to handle the order, who will contact the customer within seven days to process the booking. As with bookings made at any Proton outlet, a full refund is given should a customer changes his mind.

In conjunction with the launch of the online booking portal, Proton has revealed the full specifications of the X70 for each model variant.

The features in the X70 include the 1.8-litre turbocharged engine, multi-function steering, auto headlamp, auto wiper, electronic side folding mirrors, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, intelligent high beam control, 360 degrees 3d camera view and smart air purifier.

It also has 4G WiFi connectivity, smart phone remote control, voice command, rear air-vents, power boot, tyre pressure monitoring system, 18-inch wheels, six airbags, keyless entry with push to start button, among others.

“After studying consumer preferences and market trends, Proton believes the time is right to offer an online booking facility to our customers. The platform allows bookings to be made from anywhere a customer is, as long as there is an Internet connection available.

“The company has also decided to reward those who make a booking prior to the launch of the Proton X70. This will come in the form of special gifts for all early birds regardless of whether they booked their unit online or at our outlets," said Proton Edar chief executive officer Abdul Rashid Musa in a statement.
