KUALA LUMPUR: MBM Resources Bhd has appointed former Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) top executive Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh as chairman and Wong Fay Lee as a board member.
This was announced at MBM Resources’ annual general meeting on May 29.
The company said Datuk Abd Rahim Abd Halim had announced his retirement from the board as director and chairman during the meeting.
Abd Rahim had held the position since 2007.
Dato’ Abd Rahim bin Abd Halim who has been holding the position since 2007, announced his retirement from the Board as Two director, Shamsir@Shamsin Ghazali and Mustapa Mohamed, also announced their retirement at the AGM, MBM Resources said in a statement today.
“Despite the departure of the long-serving and experienced directors and the chairman, the board is committed to ensuring continuity and has made several changes in the board composition to focus on plans and strategies to boost MBM Resources’ future growth,” it added.
Aminar Rashid was Perodua managing director from November 16, 2009 until 2012, before being redesignated as president and chief executive officer from 2013 until his retirement in December 2018.
Prior to his appointment in Perodua, he served UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd since 1992 in various capacities including executive director of strategic planning group.
Meanwhile, MBM Resources said Datuk Anwar Aji will join and succeed Shamshir as chairman of its audit and risk management committee.
It said Anwar has profound knowledge in risk management from his 30-year of finance and treasury related experience.
The committee is reinforced by two other members, Muhammad Lukman Musa and Aminar Rashid.
